FAQ

  • What time do I need to meet my Captain the morning of the tournament? - 6:00 AM sharp! Captain assignments will be provided several days before the tournament. You will need to coordinate with your Captain. Special Note ***You may be required to drive to another location to meet your guide the morning of the tournament***
  • Do I need a fishing license? - YES. Anyone planning to participate in the tournament will require at least a 1 day saltwater fishing license. They can be purchased online at https://tpwd.texas.gov/business/licenses/online_sales/# OR at any local Academy, Dicks Sporting Goods etc. LICENSING WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE THE DAY OF THE TOURNAMENT AND MUST BE PURCHASED IN ADVANCE. 
  • How much is a 1 day saltwater fishing license? - $11
  • How long will we be fishing for? - You need to be in the weigh-in line no later than 1:00 pm.
  • How many fisherman are on each boat? - 4 fisherman per boat + the fishing guide ( You do however have the option to purchase the entire boat and have anywhere between 1-4 anglers)
  • Are non-fisherman allowed to ride on the boat? - No, only the 4 fisherman are allowed to go out on the boats.
  • Can I still attend the event if I do not want to fish? - Yes, for $50 you can buy a wristband for the "party" portion of the tournament which begins at 11:00 AM and includes your lunch ticket.
  • If I have a friend attending the tournament as well, can we be put on the same boat? -Yes, please send all requests to lauren.riechmann@gibraltarlending.com and we will try to accommodate the request as best as we can. REQUEST MUST BE IN BY FRIDAY,  AUGUST 26, 2022.
  • Can anyone attend the event? - We want to give our Gary Greene family the first opportunity to participate but will open the tournament to family and friends at a later date.
  • What if the weather is bad and we can't go out on the water? - The tournament director reserves the right to cancel in case of inclement weather. If the tournament is canceled due to inclement weather, ALL updates will be posted to the Home page on this website by 10 PM on Thursday, September 8. Entrants are responsible to verify the tournament is not canceled.
  • So what if the tournament is canceled due to bad weather? - We will look to reschedule at a later date.
  • If I win the raffle, do I have to be physically present to obtain my prize? - No, anyone can enter the raffle whether you are at the tournament or not. You will be notified that you have won & will be given instructions on how to procure your prize.
  • What do I need to bring? -Texas Saltwater Fishing License (at least 1 day), small ice chest for your day's catch, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, light jacket, shoes that do not have black soles
  • What will the fishing guide provide? - Rods, reels, and fishing tackle (feel free to bring your own rod and reel if you wish) - ALL bait will be provided
